While cruising around the Internet I discovered the quote below.  On first reading it hits me with mixed reactions.  Part of me wants to rejoice in it and another part wants to be cautious in embracing it.  I think it is one of those quotes to be read as Lectio Divina, slowly, meditatively, thoughtfully, to find what it has to say to us in our personal journeys.  (more…)

Originally written a couple of weeks ago, the day after my 50th birthday.

Well, here it is. 50. It has arrived. No blaring of trumpets. No black hooded spectre bearing a scythe. Just a gentle waking up with the slightest of hangovers from last night’s celebration at Rezaz, one of my favorite restaurants. The hangover is not from abundant drinking but rather from a very tasty but slightly inferior pouilly fuisse. (more…)
